Let's Get Regulated

A two-day experiential training for professionals who want to explore the concept of regulation in a deeper, embodied way — moving beyond strategies-on-a-page to genuinely understand and feel what regulation, dysregulation and co-regulation are really about. Whether regulation is new to you or already part of your practice, you're very welcome — no prior knowledge or theory is assumed, as everything you need is covered along the way.

About this training

This two-day experience is designed to work whether regulation is completely new to you or already part of your day-to-day practice. If you're just starting out, everything you need — the language, the theory and the practical grounding — is covered as we go, with no prior knowledge assumed. If you already know the language of regulation, it helps you understand it from the inside out rather than adding another set of techniques.

Grounded in polyvagal theory and nervous-system-aware practice, we explore our own states of regulation, what happens when we lose regulation under stress, and how co-regulation shapes the way we work with children, families and colleagues.

What we'll explore

The regulated nervous system

What regulation actually is at a physiological level — and how a sense of safety underpins connection, curiosity and learning.

Losing regulation under stress

How the nervous system responds to threat and overwhelm, and how to recognise dysregulation in ourselves and others.

Co-regulation in practice

How our own state shapes the people around us, and how to use co-regulation intentionally in your work.

An experiential approach

Reflective, embodied and practical throughout — you'll experience the concepts, not just hear about them.

Who this is for

Occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, educators, therapists and any professional whose work depends on connection and co-regulation with others. It's especially valuable for those working in trauma-sensitive and relationship-based ways — and it's just as much a starting point for anyone new to this area, with no prior knowledge or theory needed.

What you'll take away

  • A deeper, felt understanding of your own regulation
  • Practical language for talking about regulation with families and teams
  • Confidence in using co-regulation intentionally in your practice
  • A trauma-sensitive, neuroaffirmative lens on everyday interactions

Content and format may be tailored to each group. Exact dates, venue and fees are confirmed ahead of each course.
